Homes worth living in.

Most projects are made to be sold.
Ours are made to be lived in, for a lifetime.

A home should be more than a place to live.

The spaces we spend our lives in have an extraordinary influence on how we feel. The light that comes through a window in the morning, the way rooms connect, the materials we touch, and the quiet comfort of a home that simply works. These are the things that matter to us.

At Castell, we approach residential development with the belief that good architecture, careful construction and healthier living environments should belong together. Not as an aspiration, but as the starting point for every home we create.

What we build.

Four kinds of buildings, one high standard.

Castell Homes

Houses & townhouses

Individual houses and townhouses, thoughtfully designed, built and finished as complete homes.

Castell Residences

Boutique condominiums

Intimate residential buildings with a limited collection of individually owned homes, bringing the care and character of a private house to apartment living.

Castell Apartments

Rental residences

Thoughtfully designed rental homes in buildings owned and operated by Castell, with the same attention to architecture, materials and everyday living.

Castell Atelier

Private commissions

A select number of custom homes designed and built for individual clients, shaped around their site, needs and way of life.

We believe good homes emerge from good values.

Not every detail of a home is immediately visible. Some of the most important choices are the ones you notice only after living there for a while. We think those choices deserve as much attention as the architecture itself.

  1. Design is the foundation.

A home should make room for the necessities of everyday life, but also for the things that make that life your own.

We pay attention to proportion, natural light, the way rooms relate to one another, and the relationship between a home and its surroundings. When these things are considered together, a home feels effortless to live in.

  2. Built to a higher standard.

Good construction is as much about what you don't see as what you do. The way materials come together, the precision of a joint, the systems behind the walls, and the care taken at every stage all contribute to how a home feels and performs.

We believe craftsmanship is not an added luxury. It is the foundation of a well-made home.

  3. A healthier way to live.

Home is where we spend much of our lives, often with the people who matter most to us. It should be a place that supports our health and wellbeing, not one that compromises them.

That is why we consider clean air, filtered water, natural daylight and carefully selected materials essential to a well-designed home, rather than optional extras.

  4. Made to last.

A good home should feel just as relevant twenty years from now as it does today. Not because it follows a particular style, but because its architecture is thoughtful, its spaces are well proportioned, and its design allows life to evolve within it.

We are interested in homes that age gracefully, feel more personal with time, and remain places people want to live in for generations.

  5. We don't leave.

For most developers, the relationship ends when the keys are handed over. We think there is a better way.

Our ambition is to remain involved in the homes and buildings we create, helping care for them long after construction is finished. After all, no one should understand a home better than the people who designed and built it.

Who we are.

We believe the places we call home have a profound influence on how we live.

Our mission is to create thoughtfully designed, beautifully built homes that enrich everyday life.

By bringing together architecture, craftsmanship and a commitment to healthier living, we aim to create homes where every detail has been considered, everything works as it should, and the experience of living is as beautiful as the home itself.

Team

Guillermo Castello
Guillermo Castello
Founder and Principal

Guillermo's background brings together architecture, design and residential development.

He began his development career at Barrett Design, working on boutique residential projects in Manhattan and Brooklyn. He later joined Avery Hall, where he led planning and design development for multifamily residential projects in New York and other East Coast markets.

In 2022, he founded Elmo Studios, a New York-based architecture and design practice working on high-end residential and hospitality projects across the country, with a primary focus on New York, Palm Beach and Aspen.

Born in Barcelona and raised between Spain and Canada, Guillermo studied architecture at McGill University and received his Master of Architecture from Yale University. He is a registered architect in New York.

Castell grew out of a simple idea: to bring the same level of thought and care that goes into a highly considered private home to the homes we develop for others.

Every good home begins with the right site.

We are always interested in properties with potential.

Castell is currently exploring opportunities to acquire houses, townhouse sites and boutique residential buildings in established neighborhoods throughout Brownstone Brooklyn, Fairfield County and Westchester.

If you own or represent a property that might be a good fit, we would be glad to hear from you.

We'd love to hear from you.

Whether you're interested in one of our homes, considering a private commission, exploring an investment partnership, or simply want to learn more about Castell, we welcome the conversation.
